For the past twenty years I have worked in the field of executive education and leadership development. At the end of a program, we always have a very simple, but very poignant, graduation ceremony wherein we gather the group into a circle and we ask each person to briefly share a hope and a commitment that resulted from their experience. At the conclusion of each person’s comments, I give them an Earth Marble as a totem and a take-away.
Our interdependence and connectivity to each other is symbolized by the beautiful image of the planet and its continents and rivers. Through globalization our planet and our future as human beings face incredible challenges, as well as corresponding possibilities.
